In Singapore, Novartis provides support for patient groups, research efforts and communities in need. We work to promote the well-being of our associates, and support local communities through volunteerism and disease awareness educational programs.
MusicFest @SGH was conceived with the belief that music has the ability to uplift the spirit and improve a patient’s journey to recovery. Since 2013, we have enabled this event by bringing our associates, local artistes and the community together to transform medical centers into live performing arts theatres, bringing joy to patients and their families. Our long-standing commitment to MusicFest has also led us to be a receipient of the "Friend of the Arts Award" by The National Arts Council.
Through our long-lasting partnerships with local hospitals, we help enrich the lives of patients through our medicines and volunteerism. #NovaKakis started in 2019 and was inspired by bringing back the “kampung spirit” (i.e. the spirit of community) through active volunteerism. “Kaki” a colloquialism that means a close friend, represents our sincerity in helping patients during mealtimes, navigating the hospital grounds together to get to their medical appointments and engaging patients meaningfully in the wards.
Community Partnership Activities
Novartis is community and we are proud to support Singapore beneficiaries and groups through our community partnership activities and community outreach programs. Our activities include painting wall murals for elderly facilities and organizing health awareness fairs catered for the elderly and underserved communities in Singapore.
Swim for Rheumatology
We support Ankylosing Spondylitiis patients in their journey of gaining back mobility by taking part and sponsoring the annual Swim For Rheumatology awareness and fundraising event. Our associates participate by volunteering to swim laps in the pool to pledge their support for the cause.
Race Against Cancer
Organized by the Singapore Cancer Society, we sponsor our associates to join the annual Race against Cancer run to help raise funds for local programmes and services aimed at minimizing cancer and maximizing life in Singapore.
Hair for Hope
We support the Children's Cancer Foundation by hosting a Hair for Hope Satellite Centre at our premise for associates and visitors to shave their heads and help raise funds and awareness on childhood cancers. In 2019, close to 30 associates bravely shaved their heads and raised more than SGD 50,000 for the Children's Cancer Foundation.
